INTEGRITY • EXCELLENCE • STRENGTH

Welcome From the Head of School

Since 1977, The Morrison School has been giving children with learning and adjustment challenges the attention they need to develop their individual strengths and talents. Morrison School has created a therapeutic educational environment that respects individuality and meets the needs of each child.

It is the mission of The Morrison School community to help children with learning differences acquire the skills to achieve success in higher education, job placements, and interpersonal relationships. As members of a supportive and nurturing community, our students maximize their strengths, develop self-esteem, and become contributing members of society.  The long-term goal of the school is to provide each student with lifelong learning strategies necessary to achieve, without accommodation, his or her maximum potential personally, socially, and in the workplace.

Our learning environment is warm, friendly, and conducive to individual growth. Morrison students enjoy coming to school because it is a place where they can develop a positive sense of accomplishment and self-worth.  Working as a team with parents and students, the Morrison faculty develops a unique plan for each student.  The faculty and staff also create a challenging learning environment for students with superior intellect and special gifts and talents. Parents from long distances choose The Morrison School because of its distinct benefits: a strong parent support system with meetings throughout the Tri-Cities, an average student-teacher ratio of 6 to 1, a strong emphasis on student responsibility rather than excessive accommodation, and a proven positive reinforcement system.

I feel fortunate to have the opportunity to lead this wonderful school with its rich tradition in providing extraordinary services to children.
